Julian Epok was born in 1994 in Vienna. brought up in an artistic family, he was taught to
see music and hear art.
EDUCATED at Lycée Français de Vienne, HE fenced
competitively, and graffiti, his first public apprenticeship, taught him scale, color and
risk.
Admitted to the University of Applied Arts, Epok left after a semester, convinced art must be lived. He apprenticed with devoted practitioners, translated intimacy and experience into form, and never privileged one medium: canvas for depth, photography for witness, neon for clarity.
Rooted in Vienna’s Jugendstil and the Gesamtkunstwerk ideal, his work is a dialogue between self and matter. Curiosity fuels him; failure instructs. Epok aims to fill spaces using beauty to mend, while naming sensuality, pain, descent and return.
